The annual Business Expo and Taste of Conway is a way for busy business owners and company representatives to devote one day to networking and promotion.

The 2015 Business Expo, organized by the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, is a daylong event that will take place Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds.

Cadron Creek capital crosses million-dollar threshold

Conway, AR – Cadron Creek Capital, a seed-stage venture fund based on Conway, has recently established a December 31st deadline for new investors. To date, the fund has over 40 investors and more than $1.0M in seed capital.

“We are excited about the strong initial response we’ve had to the fund,” said Jeff Standridge, co-founder of the fund. “A great group of investors have joined and we are confident we can leverage their expertise to help our portfolio companies grow.”

Workshop on marketing for small businesses set for Sept. 24

A seminar on marketing for small businesses is the first in a series of four workshops focused on the challenges and opportunities facing independently owned and operated enterprises.

Named the Conway Small Business Institute, the series is a collaborative effort between the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce and the University of Central Arkansas’ Division of Outreach and Community Engagement.

The organizations formed the Institute to accomplish goals outlined in Conway2025, the city’s long-range strategic plan.

Asa attends 2015 Downtown Conway Annual Meeting

The Conway Downtown Partnership held its annual meeting Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Hendrix College. Gov. Asa Hutchinson attended and commended Conway for playing a role in Arkansas’ growth as a “micro tech hub.”

“What a great story Conway has to tell,” he said.

Editorial: The end of the beginning

A little more than five years ago, the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce and the Log Cabin Democrat began a partnership (and experiment) of sorts.

The Faulkner County Business Journal would be a once-a-month insert into the Sunday paper.

The majority of content would be provided by the Chamber. That content would offer in-depth news, editorial, and data about the local economy.

It was a business publication written by the organization most readily identified with Conway’s business community.

Conway festival announces entertainment lineup, contributions

CONWAY, Ark. – On May 1, the 34th Annual Toad Suck Daze festival, presented by Crain Buick GMC, will kick off in downtown Conway. This year’s Toad Suck Daze will feature a number of changes designed to make the three-day festival more “regional and relevant,” according to Conway Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Brad Lacy.

“Toad Suck Daze has always been an evolving event. We started at the river, now we’re downtown. We’ve supported traditional college scholarships, and we’ve grown to support pre-K education. We think this year’s changes are just as positive.”

The top executives of the state’s largest, privately owned, faith-based health system were the featured guests at the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce’s final CEO Luncheon of 2015, held Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Central Baptist College.
